The Emergency Grant refers to financial support provided by the JCPD to its clients who find themselves in difficult or life-threatening situations that require urgent financial attention to fully or partially alleviate such situations. Examples include fire or life-threatening medical emergencies. The maximum amount which can be awarded for this grant is Three Hundred Thousand Jamaican Dollars (JMD 300,000). The processing time for this grant must be within five working days of the JCPD verifying the request.
ELIGIBILITY
To access the Emergency Grant, applicants must:
- Be registered with the JCPD.
- Present evidence of the urgent need.
- Applicant must be faced with a life-threatening situation.
WHO CAN APPLY?
Persons with disabilities or Caregivers of persons with disabilities registered with the JCPD who require emergency funding partially or fully alleviate a life-threatening situation.
