The Assistive Aid Grant (AAG) refers to financial assistance that the JCPD offers to its clients to assist with the purchase of assistive and adaptive aids and accessories and therapy services to support them in leading an independent life. This grant provides funding up to Three Hundred Thousand Jamaican Dollars (JMD 300,000).

ELIGIBILITY

To access the Assistive Aid Grant, applicants must:

  1. Be registered with the JCPD.
  2. An invoice no older than 6 months old, outlining the services required, is to be submitted with the application.
  3. The applications must include the supporting evidence of the need in the form of a letter or report from a clinician/therapist/social worker or the professional recommending the service/goods.
  4. If the cost of the good exceeds the maximum of the Grant, the applicant is responsible for any balances remaining if approved.
  5. Proof of the applicant’s contribution is required in the form of receipts or an approved payment plan from the supplier is to be submitted with the grant.
  6. Support for rehabilitation/therapy under the Assistive Aid Grant will be provided up to a maximum of 10 sessions.
WHO CAN APPLY?

Persons with disabilities or Caregivers of persons with disabilities registered with the JCPD who require therapy services or an assistive aid or device that will improve or support their functionality in their daily lives.
