Salary JMD 18,647 – JMD 25,078 (weekly)
CORPORATE SERVICES
The Jamaica Council for Persons with Disabilities (JCPD) is seekingto identify a suitably qualified candidate to fill the above-mentioned post.
SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES
The successful candidate will:
- Maintains and secures stocks of required refreshments and cleaning items and requests new supplies when they are low
- Serves hot and cold beverages to staff as per guidelines
- Serves food and beverages to visitors and/or staff when meetings are held
- Maintains the lunchroom in a clean condition and washes and stores dishes and utensils at the end of each day
- Maintains an inventory of all kitchen utensils
- Ensures that all kitchen appliances and utensils are secured
- Replenishes toiletries (tissue, hand towels, soap) in the rest room, and hand towels in the kitchen as necessary
- Mops and sweeps floors
- Cleans and dusts office furniture, fixtures and equipment
- Maintains lavatories and restrooms in a sanitary condition
- Collects and disposes of wastepaper and refuse throughout the office
- Assists in transferring files and correspondences to and from various locations
- Photocopies, sorts and compiles documents
Other
- Performs other related functions assigned from time to time by the Office Manager
KEY COMPETENCIES
Technical:
- Knowledge of various cleaning agents and tools and their application
- Knowledge of health and hygiene practices
- Ability to read and understand basic written materials
- Basic home economic skills
Core:
- Basic oral and written communication skills
- Basic interpersonal skills
MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
- At least secondary education up to grade nine (9) level Or equivalent
- Functionally literate and numerate
- Food Handler’s Permit
- At least one (1) year experience in a similar capacity
SPECIAL CONDITIONS ASSOCIATED WITH THE JOB
- Required to lift and carry light loads
- Required to stand, walk and bend
- Exposure to strong odours and fumes of cleaning agents
