The Economic Empowerment Grant (EEG) is an entrepreneurial grant designed and administered by the JCPD to provide unemployed or low-income earning persons with disabilities with financial support for starting or expanding a business. Caregivers of persons with disabilities may apply on their behalf. The individual grant offers a maximum of Two Hundred Thousand Jamaican Dollars (JMD 200,000) and Four Hundred Thousand Jamaican Dollars (JMD 400,000) for Group applications.
ELIGIBILITY
- Applicants must be registered with the JCPD.
- Applicants must be unemployed or earning no more than the national minimum wage as determined by the Government of Jamaica.
- Applicants must demonstrate an entrepreneurial need for this grant.
- A group of two or more individuals may be considered for an EEG.
- A Group application must ensure that persons with disabilities constitute a minimum of sixty percent (60%) ownership of the business.
- All applicants for an EEG must accept and be willing to facilitate monitoring of the business by the JCPD for six months upon receiving the EEG.
- Applicants must either own the business property or provide documented proof of permission to operate at the specified location for a minimum period of one (1) year.

Persons with disabilities or caregivers of persons registered with the JCPD wishing to start or expand a business.
