Voucher Preparation Officer (FMG AT 1)

The Jamaica Council for Persons with Disabilities (JCPD) is seekingto identify a suitably qualified candidate to fill the above-mentioned post.

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES

The successful candidate will:

  • Generate payroll
  • Pay suppliers
  • Check vouchers and claims properly
  • Maintain payable accounts and records
  • Prepare operational reports
  • Produce outstanding items list
  • Maintain files and records
QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE

The position requires any of the following qualifications/experience:

  • BSc Accounting or Finance degree from a recognised institution
  • At least two (2) years’ experience in Government accounting

OR

  • Associate degree in accounting or business administration from a recognised institution
  • At least five (5) years’ experience in Government accounting
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS
  • Knowledge and understanding of the accounting principles and general ledger transactions
  • Knowledge of relevant Government of Jamaica accounting procedures
  • Knowledge of computerized accounting systems
  • Expert knowledge of the Public Bodies Management and Accountability and the Financial Administration and Audit Acts
  • Good risk management and networking skills
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Good organizational and time management skills including the ability to handle tasks simultaneously
  • Ability to produce work with detail and accuracy
